Visit the Danish Windmill

Hours of Operation
OPEN DAILY! We are currently operating under our Summer hours:
Monday - Saturday: 9AM - 4PM CST
Sunday: 10PM - 2PM CST

CLOSED: Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day

*Hours subject to change due to weather-related circumstances such as snow or ice. Please call ahead before planning a visit or check this page for updates.

Tour the Windmill
Windmill tour includes a short documentary and guided tour of the ground floor. Guests are free to explore the rest of the windmill including the exterior catwalk  on their own. In the event that the windmill is running, the catwalk is closed. 
Last tour begins 30 minutes before 

General Admission: $5 / person
Children 12 and under: FREE

Total time: 15 - 60 minutes. We recommend planning for a minimum of 30 minutes inside the windmill.

Grinding & Operation
The windmill is working and near full-functionality. The 66' sails spin regularly, meaning visitors can see both the sails turning on the outside and the gears turning inside. Click the diagram to the right to learn more about our windmill.

We are currently working our way up to regular grinding demonstrations in 2024. We will do our best to announce planned grinding sessions in advance, but there is no set schedule at this time.
